Dear family and friends,
We are encouraged by what we witness in almost every province in Cyprus. We continue to give thanks and praise to the Lord for the work of His Spirit in moving the Church towards maturity by bringing us into a place of unity as well as giving us a common vision concerning the future of the Church on the Island.
As a minister of the gospel I have been visiting the Church in Cyprus on a regular basis for 30 years; the things I am witnessing among the leadership of His Church at this present time are unprecedented.
Leaders from all denominations and from all nations who reside on the Island, reaching out and building bridges of friendship and genuine relationships, coming together and seeking God’s face in prayer on behalf of the Church as well as the nation is the wonderful work of the Spirit of God.
The things which we are seeing in our day is nothing short of signs of maturity and a broadening of our vision in regards to what the Lord desires to do through the Church in Cyprus.
Greek-speaking leaders of the Church also are gathering together for seasons of fellowship, communication, and prayer; something which looked impossible just a couple of years ago.
We are encouraged and strengthened by the Lord in our resolve to pursue fervently this phenomenon and see more and more of these physical expressions and manifestations of unity amongst the leadership of the Church.
Nothing moves the heart of God more than maintaining the unity and oneness of His people…
John 17:20-21 & 23 says, “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. – John 17:20-21, 23
We ask our prayer warriors and friends of the Church in Cyprus to continue in prayer with regards to what the Lord is doing, assisting in the spiritual conflict which is taking place even at this hour over the Island for the strengthening and encouragement of His Church in Cyprus.
The words of Paul, which he wrote to the Church in Colossae, are very relevant and pertinent at this time: For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,” – Colossians 2:1-2 The new wineskin is being formed through the knitting together of the hearts of God’s people in being able to receive and contain the power of the new wine. Foundations are being laid through united prayer for what the Lord desires to do within and through the Church on the Island.
Part of our mission here is to travel from City to City, encourage and strengthen the body of Christ, build friendships with the leadership of the Church, and communicate the vision of building a network of prayer across the Island through the unity of His people.
A few more appointments this week and ministry on Sunday morning in Limassol concludes our 5 week ministry journey in Cyprus and we head back to Cape Town on Wednesday the 13th of April, arriving in Cape Town on the morning of Thursday the 14th.
Thank you once again for your participation and your diligence in prayer in helping to fulfill the part of the plan our Lord Jesus committed to us and our spiritual family.
